WhatsApp has surpassed 600 million monthly active users, according to CEO and founder Jan Koum. In Twitter update on Monday, Koum said: “Now serving 600,000,000 monthly active users. Yes, active and registered are very different types of numbers.” The messaging service, which crossed the half a billion user milestone in April this year, was acquired by Facebook for $16 billion.
